2K26 vs 2K27 badges: 40 last year, 53 this year, 19 added, 6 removed. See the named split, the new Physicals discipline, and why last-year charts do not copy over.
The badge pool grew by 13 net, from 40 to 53. That is a 33% jump in one year.

The split that replaces Set Shot Specialist
Last year’s all-purpose set-shot badge is gone as a single tool. This year that job is two new shooting badges:
- Static Middy — standing mid-range
- Set and Fire — standing threes with feet set
Moving shots are split too: Smooth Operator for moving mids, Arc Cadence for moving threes.
The other five removed names are not listed one by one. If your 2K26 build hung on a badge that is not on this year’s list, that part of the build is gone.
What else is new besides the count
- Physicals is a sixth discipline. Flash, Work Horse, and Bruiser live there.
- All five rebounding badges are new. Last year’s rebound plan does not map one-to-one.
- Pace is a new playmaking sprint badge. Wall-Up is a new hands-up paint contest.
- You now pay Badge Tokens into 20 slots. Last year’s “it just turns on” habit is the wrong mental model. See how badges work.
Why 2K26 threshold tables fail
A publisher that adds 19 badges, cuts 6, splits the set shot, and adds a discipline usually retunes the numbers too.
Even if some returning badges keep a familiar name — Deadeye, Dimer, Posterizer — the token cost on this year’s body is the only number that counts. Read it in the Builder. The requirements hub will not paste last year’s Gold lines onto this year’s names.
